My boyfriend (and BEST friend) committed suicide 15 years ago. I am deeply affected by it still. I read "To Say Goodbye," and was highly intrigued by the way she chose to present it in HIS voice, with his thoughts and feelings. I wasn't left with a journal to tell me what Russ was going through or thinking. I knew some, but he told me once that I could never understand the darkness he endured at times. Donna's book was healing and helpful to me, and aided my understanding. I have no doubt she did not write it just to make a buck, but to assist others who are caught in similar situations to see a bit of the other side. Sadly, my sister's stepson also committed suicide the day after I read Donna's book. Suicide is a tragedy, and we all need to educate ourselves and pray for the discernment to recognize those who struggle. Two thumbs up, Donna!

touching and honest

I appreciate Dr. Weighill putting a very personal experience out there. I suspect that those who suffer a suicide death of someone close feel alone and maybe isolated. The rumors, the judgements, and the guilt of wondering what could have been done must be overwhelming. In publishing this book Dr. Weighill is showing folks that they are not alone. Their sorrow and heartache are not unknown to others. Sometimes knowing that others have been on the same journey and have made it through their pain helps us know there is hope and light. It will come.

I laughed and cried as I read this wonderful book

I was so moved by the insightful and intelligent approach by Dr. Weighill in To Say Goodbye. She allowed for the most intimate of details in her life to be shared, both good and bad, without it being gratuitous or self serving. Simply, it was beautiful and touching on so many levels. I hope you take the time to read this moving book. It will touch your heart.
