One sees in contemporary Islam a society desperately searching for, and failing always to find, a formula that will make it possible to retain traditional Muslim faith in God while embracing the inescapable requirements of a world beyond the imagination of ages past.

At the same time, millions of Muslims view with feelings of outrage and helplessness the caricature of the Faith they love that an aggressive fundamentalism is determined to impose upon it.

Equally significant has been the awakening of European populations to the implications of the presence in their midst of a vast number of Muslim immigrants some now into the third generation who often appear essentially irreconcilable with certain foundational norms of Western culture. Perhaps not surprisingly, this has inspired widespread desire to understand the religious roots of such phenomena, awakening an unprecedented interest in Islamic belief and practice.

About the Author
Born in Iran and brought up in Africa, Dr Lameh Fananapazir studied medicine in Scotland and is currently a cardiologist and electrophysiologist in the United States. He is the author of several hundred medical articles and spent two and half years in Haifa, Israel where he was the director of the Health Services at the Bah� � World Centre and Visiting Professor of Molecular Genetics at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. This book was born out of his curiosity concerning the root causes of religious fanaticism and increasing certitude that Bah� u ll�h s teachings represent the only possible remedy.

Such a good book

Inside Job was a great book, It held my attention the whole way though! This was my first book I read from C-Note but you better believe its not the last. I don't want to say much and ruin the book for anyone but I will say everything turned out the way I wanted it to, although it didn't look like it was going to at some points of the book. Definitely a 5 star book and I will be passing the word and telling all my friends to buy this book!!! Your #1 fan!!! Continue to write great books, you surely have a gift!!!!

love sex lies and betrayal are the words that makes up this story. Will Joe lose his wife Mia because he works to hard on the police force. Will Monica ever get her Happily ever after? Can you really Trust people you call friends. I swear Inside Job was everything I could ask for in a book. It had love, deceit, loyalty, snitching, backstabbing adultery. C-note has done it again.This was just like watching a movie. I couldnt not put it down. Once i started it i was hooked. I would recommend any of C-note's book. Definitely not disappointed. I'm a big fan

The Master Compounder

The surprising thing about early Buffett which comes out clearly in this book is just how close he was to late Buffett. Perhaps not in terms of the types of companies that early Buffett bought in comparison to late Buffett and certainly not terms of the amount of capital he had to deploy. But early Buffett already had a very definite idea of the kind of investor he wanted to be and he has never deviated from that, in spite of the various siren songs that have bubbled through markets over his long career.

My only criticism with the book is Jeremy Miller's editorializing which prefaces many of the letters. It doesn't add much to the content of Buffett's letters and tends to repeat what is in them. Other than that, the criteria that Buffett applied to his investment decision making process in these early years - buying only value, eschewing market fads and frothiness, being patient and utterly frank with his investors, and compounding returns - emerges very clearly from these pages. These criteria are timeless and yet always timely and they find their fullest endorsement in the long trajectory of Buffett's career.

Good book to learn about Buffets philosophy on just about everything related to his investment style. However, do not expect it to be a critical analysis of Buffet's methods- the author shies away from any show of criticism. No wonder Buffet highly recommended this book in his latest annual letter!

Eliphas Levi, born Alphonse Louis Constant, was a French occult author and ceremonial magician. Levi's version of magic became a great success, especially after his death. That Spiritualism was popular on both sides of the Atlantic from the 1850s contributed to this success. His magical teachings were free from obvious fanaticisms; he had nothing to sell, and did not pretend to be the initiate of some ancient or fictitious secret society. He incorporated the Tarot cards into his magical system, and as a result the Tarot has been an important part of the paraphernalia of Western magicians. He had a deep impact on the magic of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and later on the ex-Golden Dawn member Aleister Crowley. He was also the first to declare that a pentagram or five-pointed star with one point down and two points up represents evil, while a pentagram with one point up and two points down represents good. It was largely through the occultists inspired by him that Levi is remembered as one of the key founders of the 20th century revival of magic.

About the Author
Alphonse Louis Constant, better know by his pen name Eliphas Levi, was a master of the traditional Rosicrucian interpretation of the Kabbalah. He was born in France in 1810, and through the offices of the parish priest, was educated for the church at SaintSulpice. He was later expelled from seminary for teaching doctrines contrary to those of the Roman Catholic Church. In 1824 Levi began studying the occult sciences, and wrote about magic and the Kabbalah for the next three decades. His other books include "Transcendental Magic", "Mysteries of the Qabalah", and "The Book of Splendours".

this book is purly just something to read out of curiosity. The book has some good history, but there is so much ignorance within recent history portion that this book is laughable...You prabably know more without the book. Check it out of the library don't buy it.

About the Author
Olly Richards speaks eight languages and is the man behind the popular blog: I Will Teach You A Language. He started learning his first foreign language at age 19, when he bought a one-way ticket to Paris to escape a painful breakup. With no exposure to languages growing up, and no special talent to speak of, he had to figure out how to learn a foreign language from scratch. Fifteen years later, Olly is learning his eighth language and has decided to reveal how he accomplished his goal of learning foreign languages. Great collection!

When you're an intermediate student in a language, learning resources become not only tough to find. They tend to be ...

... boring!

But this collection, which I was delighted to grab for my Kindle, has all the great features of other story collections by Olly that I've enjoyed in both Spanish and German. The stories use colloquial language so that you're getting exposure to the way people speak in situations that they actually live.

Highly recommended. I have the print copy of his German short story book, so imagine this one looks just as cool as a paperback.
