quite useless

I should have better read the first review posted here. The Kindle preview shows the paperback edition with all three violin scores (that's what I wanted to have), so clicked and ordered the paperback edition, but what you get then is really only the third violin part. The three score edition was apparently not sold by Amazon in paperback. I really don't know why someone would publish / buy the third violin part separately, its really useless. The major reason for buying this book is indeed that you have all scores on the same page. So I just wasted seven bucks (yes, I could return it, but putting it back together, getting it to the post office, etc. diminishes the return). The strange thing is, the 3 score edition is nowhere to be found by the amazon search engine. However, as I found out, if you click on the preview pages, and the preview page opens, there is a link to a paperback edition, and if you click that link, the 3 score edition shows up and you can order it for $ 8.62 (the paperback edition link on the main page gets you only the third score version).

Excellent Simple Trio parts for Suzuki Standards

I was looking for some simple duet and trio parts so that I could introduce my children to ensemble paying, and also give myself a little more interesting part to play than the same old Suzuki songs over and over. These are cleverly arranged enough to be melodic and interesting, but simple enough for even a beginning student to learn and play. Definitely an excellent choice!

Where's violin 2?

Why can't we buy the Violin 2 part? This is 3rd violin. Hard to tell when the title is so long, and the "Violin 3" is at the end. I didn't read carefully enough. Can't find the violin 2 part on Amazon. Would love to have, because it's really great.

Not worth what I paid and not a real book.

If you buy it understand it is a tiny 3 inch book with about one or two sentences per page (many pages have no text at all). So little serious content as to be considered a checkout counter toy. Many of the ideas are like take vitamins. Or you've heard it before- make associations, repeat it, etc. Let's face it, it's a bathroom "book" that I would be angry to find in my stocking at Christmas.

Buy a real book instead. There are plenty of fine books on remembering people.

About the Author
Donald C. Mosley was Professor Emeritus of Management at the University of South Alabama and also the founder and chairman of the Synergistic Consulting Group. Earlier in his career, Dr. Mosley served as Chair of the Management Department at Mississippi State University and as a visiting professor at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand (where he helped to develop the first M.B.A. degree program in New Zealand). In 1973 he became Dean of the College of Business at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, where he helped the College become accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business. In 1983, he returned to teaching, research, and consulting; and in 1999 he received the University of South Alabama Alumni Association's Outstanding Professor award and was mentioned in Who's Who Among America's Teachers.

Donald C. Mosley, Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of South Alabama where he teaches Management Theory and Practice, Organizational Behavior, and Management Seminar. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Mississippi State University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millsaps College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Alabama. He has conducted research in the areas of recruiting, selection, conflict management, teamwork, leadership, and partnering. As a consultant, he has been instrumental in working with organizations in the public and private sectors to implement organizational development techniques and supervisory training programs. Dr. Mosley is a member of the Academy of Management Association and the Southern Management Association.

Paul Pietri is Professor of Management at the University of South Alabama; in 1993, the Alumni Association selected him for their Outstanding Professor award. Dr. Pietri has an extensive background as a trainer/consultant to private and public sector organizations, both in North America and abroad. He has designed, administered, and conducted training at the supervisory level for organizations in thirty-five states and Canada. These include International Paper Company, Shell, Dupont, the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Labor, and Defense, and others. He also helped design curriculum for the "Supervisory Communication" segment of Mississippi Public Television's series "Effective Communication". His writings have reflected his training and design experiences, and appeared in such journals as Training, Organizational Development Journal, Industrial Management, and others.

The book was good for school

The book was good for school. But the book I received had nasty cigarette water all over it and I was super disappointed that anyone would think to themselves it's still okay to rent out, absolutely GROSS! Every time I opened my book I could just smell it. Try again Amazon rent! I've rented before so yes I know not all books come like that because they are normally decent books. As far as the book it's easy to read and has many ways of showing what they are trying to explain.

Book OK, Shameful Tactic

The book has done its job for the required task. However, I find it shameful that the sellers and/or Amazon would allow them to require a rental return a few days before the Spring semester is over, in order to cash in on an additional $9.95 per book. The semester session is no different for many states in the U.S., so they know very well what they are doing. What a shame.

Good Book on Risk Management and Alternative Investments

It gives a thorough review of the material needed to pass CAIA Level I, and provides thoughtful examples without getting too detailed. I would recommend this not just to those who are sitting for CAIA Level I, but also those with a general interest in alternative investments. If you are considering taking the test, I would strongly encourage it.

This book changed my life. Have followed its advice since days in Vietnam

Running, swimmming and cycling, the big three. Raise your heart rate to the target zone and keep it there long enough to do some good - twenty minutes or more.

I started when the book came out in 1968. I initially ran a mile, then worked up to four miles a day. What the book didn't tell you is that eventually it takes a toll on your knees. It may be better now, with well-engineered running shoes to absorb some of the impact, but after about twenty years my knees couldn't take the strain. Arthroscopic surgery, and then a switch to bicycling and a bike machine.

And... I still spend thirty minutes a day simulating 18 mph on the exercise bike, and do a lot of real bicycling and swimming in the summer. Cooper's work was with young people. My observation is that the age-based formulas for target heart rate are too conservative. Though the charts indicate a maximum just over 160 and a workout target under 130 for a guy of 65, I kept the exercise heart rate of 140-145 for decades; I never felt like I was straining myself. I conclude that the body can maintain an accustomed rate of exertion to a greater age than experts would project.

A Soviet-style joke (this will cost me "helpful" votes, but I'll live dangerously). Last summer I cycled across Kiev to a Democrats Abroad picnic. Several of the old war horses, progressives who had progressed past Social Security age, remarked on the fact that I had come ten miles by cycle. I told them to think nothing of it. Another four years of socialist progress under Obama and we will all be riding bicycles.

Absolutely five stars. This was a seminal book.

"Aerobics" + Motivation = Why Didn't I Do This Before Now?

1968. A good year. 15 years old, pimples, pomade, and Dr. Cooper's "Aerobics". The book was three years old when I entered USAF basic training. I'm familiar with the 1.5-mile run. We had six weeks of that version. If I had stuck with it, I would have completed at least one Boston Marathon by now. What Dr. Cooper wrote 45 years ago--before home computers and when a cell phone was a telephone in San Quentin--makes complete sense today! Atkins, South Beach, Weight-Watchers, and other fads that have come and gone, would have never made it if we did what Dr. Cooper told us to do in the first place! Eat plenty of oxygen! Strengthen your heart! Hit the road! I'm 60 years old now and the wiser. Blood pressure below 120/80. Heart rate between 48 and 60. Weight below 170. Multimarathoner. Only medications are Flonase and 81 mg baby aspirin. Thank you Dr. Cooper from all of us who are part of your successful experiment. Now stop reading this and go put on your running shoes and hit the road! Don't forget your shorts and shirt! You want to be running for your life, not running from the sheriff!

The first...

This book is excellent. 40 years old, but excellent. It is presented in a logical, easy to understand format. The information in the book is based on research that Doctor Cooper did as an Air Force doc in Texas. While giving "aerobic points" to a variety of exercises and sports, Dr. Cooper presents to the reader that jogging/running is the simplest, most effective way, to improve your cardiovascular and pulmonary health.

I have read this book twice now and find it well worth the time.
